A tasty little afternoon treat to celebrate National S’mores Day! 🍫🔥
We skipped the campfire and made our own s’mores mix with Golden Grahams, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows, and the special ingredient: LOVE! Everyone got to help mix it all together before digging in.
It had all the familiar flavors of a s’more, just in a much easier-to-eat form. And judging by how quickly the bowl disappeared, it was a hit! 😋

Practical crafts are some of our favorites, so we put our creativity to work painting our own tea towels! 🎨
Each resident used stencils to create a design they liked, and now their finished towels are ready to be put on display in their apartments. A little creativity, a little personalization, and something useful to enjoy afterward!

Americans eat an estimated 8 billion chocolate chip cookies every year—that's more than 30 cookies for every person in the country!
We did our part to help celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day by delivering fresh cookies to every resident's room. One of our residents even helped bake the batch that was shared throughout the community, making the treat extra special. 🍪👩🏼🍳
It's amazing how something as simple as a homemade cookie can bring people together and make an ordinary day feel just a little sweeter. 🤎

Nothing hits the spot quite like watermelon on a warm summer day! 🍉
We sampled everything from fresh cut watermelon and candies, to popsicles and drinks. Who knew there were so many watermelon flavored treats?! Happy National Watermelon Day to us!

A trip to the farmers market is always a good idea. 🌽🍅🍞
Our crew came back with bags full of goodies! From warm kettle corn and homemade baked treats to fresh fruits and vegetables, there was something tempting around every corner.
Everyone enjoyed strolling through the booths, chatting with vendors, and hunting for their favorite finds. Some headed home with sweet treats, others stocked up on fresh produce, but one thing was true for everyone—no one left empty-handed.

Another Happy Hour in the books, though this one had a slightly different feel. 🎶
With our usual snack and drinks in hand, this Friday’s live music was much more calm and relaxed. This slower pace offered the opportunity for more casual sing-alongs and stories about the history of the music and its artists. 🍻
Sometimes a good change of pace is welcomed. Not every Happy Hour needs to be high-energy—sometimes the best afternoons are the ones that invite you to sit back, reminisce, and enjoy good company. 🤍

This month's Breakfast with the Boys took us to IHOP... or as we decided to call it, Apple Hop, thanks to the IHOP and Applebee's combo under one roof. 🍳🥞
We had a full table, including a special guest—Roger's brother—who fit right in with the group! There was plenty of coffee, good conversation, and more than a few laughs to go around .
It was also a bittersweet morning as we shared one last Breakfast with the Boys with Mike, one of the group's original members. While we'll miss having him around the table, we're grateful for all the breakfasts, stories, and memories we've shared together. Wishing him all the best on his next adventure.

We love live music.. can you blame us? When we heard about live music happening outside, we couldn’t say no! 🎤🎸
We loaded up and headed to Music in the Park where we were treated to a great performance by Sweet Acoustics. The trip was made even sweeter with ice cream sundaes with all the fixings. ☀️🍦 Having a midweek concert is getting us excited for Friday’s Happy Hour!

As we wrap up July, we had to squeeze in one more Patriotic activity! ❤️🤍💙
History came to life thanks to Rose from Heritage Hill! 🇺🇸 We took a journey through the evolution of the American flag, starting with the flags that flew while America was still under British rule and following the story all the way to the 50-star flag we know today. It was fascinating to see how each version reflected a different chapter in our nation's history.

Recently, nursing students from Bellin College spent the afternoon with us talking all things hydration! 💧💦 How perfect for summer? !
Residents rotated through four interactive stations where they learned about the benefits of staying hydrated, common signs and causes of dehydration, simple ways to drink more fluids throughout the day, and even created personalized hydration plans to fit their own routines! ☀️🧊
Of course, learning is always a little more fun with a taste test! Everyone sampled three different beverages to see if they might discover a new favorite to add to their daily routine. 🚰

Our karaoke playlist proved one thing—great music never goes out of style. 🎤
Our songs ranged from crooners like Frank Sinatra and Elvis to country, rock and roll, or a classic singalong.  Every familiar tune seemed to unlock a different story—first dances, road trips, family gatherings, and favorite artists from years gone by. That’s the glory of listening to music! 🎶🎸🎹
Some grabbed the microphone, others happily sang along from their seats, but every performance earned its own round of applause. 👏🏼

Our monthly Lunch with the Ladies is always a crowd pleaser, and this month didn’t disappoint! 🙌🏼
We headed to The OC , claimed a table on the waterfront patio, and let the afternoon unfold. The music had everyone singing along, and everyone loved sharing stories across the table. And the weather? Well, it was absolutely perfect! ☀️🌊 It’s safe to say that this will be on our list of places to come again!

To get ready for our August Dessert Truck Rally, we held a very important taste test featuring eight different cheesecakes from Tria Frog Treats. Every resident got to rank from most to least favorite.
After all the tasting and comparing, the votes will be tallied and we will narrow it down to the top five flavors that will be featured at our Dessert Truck Rally on Thursday, August 13th! Based on the flavors you see, what is your favorite?

We turned ordinary coffee mugs into works of art by using sharpie markers to create unique designs. Up next? Each mug will get baked to seal on the designs so they can be used as often as possible!

A recent craft session was all about seeing where everyone's creativity took them! 🇺🇸🎨
We started with the same popsicle sticks and paint, but by the end, every firecracker had its own personality. Some followed the examples with red, white, and blue, while others mixed in their own little creative touches. It's always fun to watch a simple craft become something completely unique to the person making it. 🧨 ✨
