We recently had a wheel-y great day at the The Automobile Gallery & Event Center 🚘
Our residents cruised through decades of automotive history, spanning from early 1900’s classics to today’s standouts. From the famous car featured in That '70s Show to the showstopper styles in the James Bond exhibit, there was something that caught everyone’s eye.
If only we had a few extra parking spots—these favorites might have come home with us! 🚙🚦

We love a project that spans multiple days, so this potting project fit our interests perfectly! 🪴
Our residents kicked things off by painting their own flower pots. From sweet ladybugs and an intricate Australian terrier to suns and abstract colors, each pot was made to match the interests of our residents. On day two, we got our hands a little dirty planting a mix of flowers and succulents to bring those pots to life. 🎨 🌱
Now comes the best part—watching their creations grow and bloom right alongside them! 🌺

We set out for a quick outing to Dollar Tree and Festival Foods… and came back with just about everything! 🛍️🛒
Between great deals and fun finds, our bus was packed with lots of bags that left juuust enough room for everyone to squeeze back in!
Outings like these aren’t just fun—they support independence, confidence, and decision-making as residents choose and purchase items for themselves. Staying active in everyday tasks helps maintain mobility, boosts mood, and encourages a sense of accomplishment… especially when you come home with great deals in hand!

Simple supplies turned into stunning blooms! 🌺We turned colorful pipe cleaners into cheerful floral centerpieces, adding a personal touch to our dining room!
Activities like this help strengthen fine motor skills, boost creativity, and provide a relaxing, purposeful way to spend time. Sharing ideas, laughter, and finished pieces also builds connection—making the experience just as meaningful as the final product 💐

Spring was in the air recently as our residents got hands-on with their own floral creations!🌼
With guidance from our friends at Van Zeeland Nursery & Landscape, everyone started with the same flowers, yet each arrangement turned into something uniquely their own—just like the hands that made them. 🫶🏼 A beautiful mix of creativity, color, and individuality brought each piece to life 💐

We kicked off our National Beer Day celebration by dividing and conquering in the kitchen—some residents took on the beer dip while others worked on fresh beer bread. Then we gathered for a fun-filled social with beer and root beer tastings.
Great company, delicious bites, and plenty of smiles made it a very ‘hoppy’ day! 🤍

Happy hour was ‘eggs’stra special with live music, lots of dancing, an exciting game of bunny ring toss that kept everyone on the edge of their seats, and some tasty treats. Definitely a Friday to remember!

Residents and staff took turns spinning a wheel and accepting silly (but safe!) tasting challenges including:
🐠 Fish flesh- aka jello
👀 Eyeballs- aka grapes
🫁 Intestines- aka noodles
🪱 Maggots- aka rice
🦷 Human teeth- aka popcorn kernels
🫀 Human heart- aka peeled tomato
🩹 Scabs- aka beef jerky
🐙 Octopus suckers- aka spaghetti-o’s
🩸 Blood clots- aka cherry pie filling
🦶🏼 Toenails- freeze dried banana
🐊 Alligator eyes- aka olives
🪳 Cockroach eggs- yogurt covered raisins
🕸️ Spider webs- aka cotton candy
Everything was optional, lighthearted, and focused on FUN- no pressure or embarrassment— just laughs and great engagement. It sparked conversation, cheering, and lots of funny faces. 😆

Rain or shine, we weren’t missing out on a great meal at Longhorn Steakhouse for Lunch with the Ladies! ☔️🌧️
The weather may have tried to stop us, but we were determined to enjoy a yummy steak and salad! Everyone left with a full belly, some leftovers, and happy hearts! 🤍🥩

Residents were treated to a two-for-one outing recently when we stopped at Seroogy’s and Pizza Ranch! 🍫🍕
Our stop at Seroogy's Chocolates was a hit, with so many treats to choose from—including sugar-free options so everyone could enjoy a little something special. It was a sweet experience in every sense! 🍬🍪
We wrapped up the day at Pizza Ranch where the buffet did not disappoint. Let’s just say stretchy pants were a great choice…full bellies, happy hearts, and lots of laughter shared around the table! 😊

What a heartwarming day of connection and giving back! ✨
We loved welcoming students from Our Lady of Lourdes School for a special visit filled with connection and creativity. Together, residents and students whipped up delicious dirt cups—complete with pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms—before teaming up to create cozy tie blankets.
The best part? Those blankets were made with love and donated to The Golden House, spreading kindness even further. 💛
Moments like these remind us how special it is to learn, laugh, and give back—together.
