a sneak peek at our social life!
We take our baking and eating very seriously around here and we love sharing ideas, so check out how we combined two of our favorite things!
Everyone had the chance to submit a favorite cookie recipe, then we each submitted a vote to decide which cookie make it into the kitchen.🍪
The winner? Cookie Brittle! 🎉
From sharing the recipes to casting votes and finally making the winning treat together, our residents had a say in every step. It was a fun way to come together, share some favorite recipes, and enjoy a treat that they chose. And the final verdict? Yumm! 😋

Caring for the whole person means more than just supporting residents socially, emotionally, and spiritually—it also means caring for their bodies. 🤍
That’s why exercise classes like Sit & Be Fit are such an important part of our week. They may look simple, but those movements can make a big difference—helping improve strength, flexibility, balance, circulation, coordination, range of motion, and overall mobility. They also give residents a chance to get moving, challenge themselves, and feel good about what their bodies can do. 💪🏼

A couple of beads turned into a whole lot of stories when residents created their own personalized keychains. Each bead was picked to represent something meaningful to them.
💙 birthstone
💭 favorite memory
💍 something for someone they love
🏈 favorite sports team
🍽️ favorite food
🎅🏼 favorite holiday
As everyone made their keychains, the beads naturally sparked conversations and memories along the way.
By the end, everyone had something completely their own—a little collection of memories, favorites, and people they love, all in one place. 🤍

Tie-dye day brought back a little bit of the 70s! ✌️ Residents got to choose between making a shirt or a hat, and for many, tie-dye brought back memories of a time when it was first becoming popular.
Of course, we had to add a little Packers pride too—green and yellow were some of the most popular colors! 💚💛 Everyone’s creations turned out a little different, and it was fun seeing those memories come back while making something new. 👕🧢

There’s nothing quite like getting out on the water for an afternoon! 🌊☀️ Our residents enjoyed a pontoon ride, soaking up the sunshine, taking in the views, and enjoying some good company.
We even got a few unexpected surprises along the way—an oil ship with the same name as one of our passengers AND a bald eagle! 🦅 Talk about perfect timing.
A special thank you to Mike, Patty’s husband, for volunteering his time to captain the boat, and to Patty for joining in and helping make the afternoon happen. We’re so thankful for both of them!

When our Life Enrichment Director, Hannah, put “Water Balloons & Squirt Guns” on the calendar, she immediately knew she would be the target! 😂
Ready, aim, FIRE! The residents didn’t waste any time taking advantage of their opportunity to soak Hannah who had to dodge water from every direction. What a good sport!
There was a lot of laughing, a little chaos, and plenty of very satisfied residents. Hannah may have volunteered for the job, but the residents definitely made the most of it! 💦🔫🎈

Ready to give back? Caretta is collecting school supplies to be donated to local kids in need! ✏️✂️🖍️📚
When we come together to ensure everyone has the tools to learn, we’re not just filling backpacks—we’re lifting spirits and sending the message that no child is alone.

The “Cookie Man” dropped by again to deliver some homemade yumminess! 🍪
This local man is affectionately known as The Cookie Man around our building because he generously drops off several dozen cookies to our residents every other weekend. The flavors vary, but his generosity remains consistent. Our friendly Cookie Man has no connection to our building, he just enjoys making our residents smile! Thanks for the sweet smiles!

There are some people who leave a lasting mark on a community 🤍
We gathered with family and friends for a Service of Remembrance honoring the members of our Caretta community who passed away over the last year. Through music, reflections, the reading of names, and candle lighting, we shared memories and celebrated the lives of those who meant so much to us.
Grief looks different for everyone, but there is something comforting about coming together to remember. We are thankful to the families and friends who joined us and shared in this meaningful afternoon, and to Unity Hospice for partnering with us and helping create a space for reflection and remembrance.
Though we miss those who are no longer with us, their memories continue to live on in the people and community they touched. 🕯️🤍

Today’s Dessert Truck Rally was basically a resident’s dream afternoon. 😂 We had three different trucks stop by, which meant there was a little something for everyone!
Tria Frog Treats brought delicious cheesecake (remember that tasting we did a few weeks back?) and cotton candy, Northern Sips had refreshing lemonade and dirty sodas, and Ice Clouds kept everyone cool with shaved ice. There was plenty of sampling, comparing favorites, and deciding what everyone would go back for if they could.
A pretty sweet way to spend an afternoon!

🎶 Elvis has entered the building! 🎶
The King of Rock ’n’ Roll himself stopped by for a visit during National Elvis Week! Our residents enjoyed hearing all of his best hits, singing along, and reminiscing about the Elvis’ life. 🎤✨

Our flower arranging afternoons with Branching Out & Company started as a one-time event, but have quickly become something everyone looks forward to! 💐
Kellie brought along a beautiful selection of flowers, including billy balls, hydrangeas, roses, and a few others, and gave step-by-step directions as everyone got to work. Even though we all started with the same flowers and followed the same instructions, no two arrangements turned out alike!
It’s always fun to see how everyone puts their own spin on things. By the end of the afternoon, we had a table full of beautiful arrangements—and plenty of smiles to go with them. 🌸🫶🏼

A tasty little afternoon treat to celebrate National S’mores Day! 🍫🔥
We skipped the campfire and made our own s’mores mix with Golden Grahams, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows, and the special ingredient: LOVE! Everyone got to help mix it all together before digging in.
It had all the familiar flavors of a s’more, just in a much easier-to-eat form. And judging by how quickly the bowl disappeared, it was a hit! 😋

Practical crafts are some of our favorites, so we put our creativity to work painting our own tea towels! 🎨
Each resident used stencils to create a design they liked, and now their finished towels are ready to be put on display in their apartments. A little creativity, a little personalization, and something useful to enjoy afterward!

Americans eat an estimated 8 billion chocolate chip cookies every year—that's more than 30 cookies for every person in the country!
We did our part to help celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day by delivering fresh cookies to every resident's room. One of our residents even helped bake the batch that was shared throughout the community, making the treat extra special. 🍪👩🏼🍳
It's amazing how something as simple as a homemade cookie can bring people together and make an ordinary day feel just a little sweeter. 🤎

A round of applause for our July Employee of the Month, Emily! 👏🏼
Emily has a way of making everyone around her feel seen and valued. Whether she's sharing an inside joke with a resident that gets them both laughing or offering a kind word during a difficult moment, her compassion shines through in everything she does.
Thank you, Emily, for the kindness, dedication, and joy you bring to our Caretta family. We are so grateful to have you on our team. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition! 🤍

A trip to the farmers market is always a good idea. 🌽🍅🍞
Our crew came back with bags full of goodies! From warm kettle corn and homemade baked treats to fresh fruits and vegetables, there was something tempting around every corner.
Everyone enjoyed strolling through the booths, chatting with vendors, and hunting for their favorite finds. Some headed home with sweet treats, others stocked up on fresh produce, but one thing was true for everyone—no one left empty-handed.

Another Happy Hour in the books, though this one had a slightly different feel. 🎶
With our usual snack and drinks in hand, this Friday’s live music was much more calm and relaxed. This slower pace offered the opportunity for more casual sing-alongs and stories about the history of the music and its artists. 🍻
Sometimes a good change of pace is welcomed. Not every Happy Hour needs to be high-energy—sometimes the best afternoons are the ones that invite you to sit back, reminisce, and enjoy good company. 🤍
